20IN20: Madison, Indiana’s Lanthier Winery makes the 20IN20 Indiana Winery Destination

MADISON, INDIANA. October 24, 2020 - Lanthier Winery is proud to announce that, after just celebrating our 25th anniversary of producing hand-crafted award-winning wines, they are now part of the 20IN20 Indiana Winery destination list for unique destinations in Indiana. Throughout 2020, the Indiana Destination Development Corporation has created lists noting 20 must-see experiences, organized by categories ranging from dining, historic sites, roadside attractions to the latest WINERIES.

Explained on the visitindiana.com website, “There’s just something special about wineries. People from all different backgrounds come together to learn, taste, and enjoy locally-made wine. Indiana is the place for true connoisseurs, whether you prefer a glass of white, red, dry, sweet, semi-sweet, or sparkling wine. From indulging in American’s best tasting room to having a scenic picnic with friends, uncork a perfect experience at these 20 Indiana wineries.” Part of this 20IN20 campaign promotes destination locations in Indiana and encourages visitors to complete visiting 20 of the adventures to kick off the decade.

“Throughout 2020 we have had challenges, as every business has, with COVID bringing changes to operations, but we have continued to grow by celebrating our 25th anniversary, opening our Lanthier Winery Distillery with our SILVER25 Vodka and now adding this into our list nearing the end of the year is truly icing on the 2020 Cake,” noted Cellarmaster and Owner Chris Lanthier. Over the last 25 years, Owners Chris Lanthier and Tami Hagemier have worked to create quality wine with an ambiance of a far away feeling.

“We have a great team at the winery and all work hard to ensure we have a quality product for customers to enjoy their experience. Years ago we dreamed of rehabilitating this property and creating a positive addition for the community to be proud of, visitors to enjoy and now, being continually recognized as a destination location, it validates all the hard work for everyone involved” added Hagemier.

With the holiday months just around the corner, Lanthier Winery hasn’t slowed down as the trees are already started to get decorated in preparation for the Annual Festival of Trees, a holiday display of over 350 individually decorated Christmas trees throughout the winery. Festival of Trees officially opens the Friday after Thanksgiving through New Year’s, along with Host of Angels – a private collection of rare and unique angels displayed throughout the winery. During this time the winery typically releases the holiday wines, but to minimize crowds and allow for early picks ups holiday wines will be available starting November 1st for 2020.

“This year we made preparations to be able to get the holiday wines ready earlier for the release in November and by allowing people to pre-order and do pickups we hope this will help keep people socially distanced and still allow for them to get their holiday favorite wine,” Operations Manager Terrence McCarthy explained. The limited release holiday wines are St. Nicholas Blush, Snowflake White and a yearly sell out – RUDOLPH RED! Again this year, pre-orders and sales at the winery for holiday wines will start November 1st. You can pre-order by calling 812-273-2409

From ceiling to floor and wall to wall, Lanthier Winery transforms into a holiday splendor to create ‘a far away feeling, close enough to taste’ during the holiday season, but remember when visiting to follow all CDC rules and please wear your mask.
